Ujamaa Center holds the view that governmental policies on trade should be in the public interest, rather than the interest of wealthy entities and individuals who try to influence trade negotiation to benefit their own interests. Ujamaa implements programmes that promote fairness in trade and ensures that actors prescribe and conform to the provisions and principles of trade justice outlined in local and international laws. The organization believes that fair trade may not necessarily amount to trade just.
